Special Grant Awarded to St Raphael

At a special presentation on 7th June 2005, St Raphael Greek School was presented with a grant of $10,000 from the Victorian Multicultural Council. This grant will be used to conduct professional development courses for all Greek School teachers within the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Melbourne.

There will be six professional development sessions run over the next six months with guest speakers presenting various topics. Invitations have been sent to all 18 Greek Schools within the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Melbourne.

Blessing

At the beginning of the first term of each year, the students, staff and parents are blessed by the priest from the St Raphael Greek Orthodox church.

End of Year Concert

The school concert is held on the first Friday in December, at the Brighton Secondary College Hall, Marriage Rd, Brighton.

This concert is a fantastic opportunity for parents, grandparents and friends to enjoy the students' singing, plays, poetry and Greek dancing.

In addition, the students receive their end-of-year report.

It is also an occasion to farewell and recognise our VCE students.
